Mongols bikie allegedly stole fitness clients details to create fake phone accounts

A HIGH-ranking Sydney bikie allegedly used his position as a manager of a fitness centre to steal clients details to create false phone accounts and was also in possession of an illegal drug used by body builders.

The man, Daniel Sarkis is a senior member of the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang and a manager at Anytime Fitness in Dee Why when the offences allegedly took place.

Daniel Sarkis has been charged with dishonestly obtaining property by deception.

Sarkis, who is due to appear in court today is also accused of attacking, stalking and intimidating a 24-year-old Warilla man who use to date his current girlfriend.

“Police seized electronic storage devices, mobile phones, SIM cards, Clenbuterol, valium, an extendible baton, steel handcuffs, and Mongols OMCG colours and patches,’’ police said yesterday.

“He was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with seven counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, two counts of possess prescribed restricted substance, and two counts of possess prohibited weapon. ‘’

Clenbuterol is an illegal substance in Australia and often used by body builders to improve muscle bulk as well as reduce body fat.

It is not approved for human use in Australia and is also banned under the Olympic

Movement’s World Anti-Doping Code.

In many countries such as the USA, Australia and most of Europe, Clenbuterol is only legal for use in horses, in the treatment of asthma.

The Fitness Centre immediately suspended Sarkis who were unaware of any alleged criminal activity by their employer and have been completely cooperative. They did not want to comment on his arrest.

On the centres website Sarkis says he is a qualified trainer.

“I also have my Master Trainer Certificate IV in fitness, Certificate III in fitness, First aid & CPR, ‘’ he said.

Sarkis is a senior member of the Mongols bikie gang.

“There is such a great atmosphere at this gym and makes me love coming to work everyday. I love getting to know my members and having banter with them on the gym floor. I’m here to listen to any feedback, queries or concerns you may have to ensure your experience at Anytime Fitness Dee Why is the best it can be,’’ he says.

The Mongols are now considered one of Australia’s largests Outlaw Motor Cycle gangs after the Finks had a national meeting in 2013 and voted to patch over to the Mongols MC. At the time it made propelled the Mongols from a small club in Australai into one of the most powerful.

The club’s worldwide headquarters is in Southern California and was originally formed in Montebello, California, in 1969.
